There's also a meal and the usual get-together on the Friday night for anyone staying over.

We hope to be there and might even be looking for a tup if there's a suitable one  :sheep:

Scottish farmer is also advertising a "bring and buy poultry section" at this sale not quite sure what this means i assume they are not doing a catalogue, rather than a blue peter badge with every cockerel :chook:

Yeh not good  :-[ depends what you are going to carlisle for ( catalogues are usually out a week or so before) i usually take birds down to there as the prices are good and there's good quality birds to buy  but I'm going to stirling with some hebs so may take my chance taking some birds there.

Last year carlisle fitted in a second poultry sale before Xmas but nothing advertised this year so far

I think the Romanovs are from a croft a few miles from me! They are a Russian breed that can have up to 9 lambs at one time, the scanning man loved them. They imported them a few years ago and are trying to expand them. Not sure if they a huge success!! Sheep only have 2 teats and triplets are bad enough, but 9!

The show on the Friday night sounds great. Can anybody show up for a look?  If so, I'll be the one wandering around looking clueless! :-)

Yeh starts at 6pm ish the mart is open, they do the show in the sale ring, Usually the gimmer class is especially big. Folk can sit round the ring ( just like on auction day) you can also look at them in the pens.

Thanks for the info. I'm definitely going to pop along as we're thinking of getting some sheep in the spring, but I haven't decided on which breed yet.

Robert - I'll be the one chewing on a piece of straw and carrying a pitchfork. Any better?  ;D   ;)
