2 of mine suffered from all the wet lush grass and had green runny bums. I've had to keep them well dagged but they are well in themselves. COuld it be the same with Bert?

I hope it is, you just keep wondering if something sinister is going on and your missing the cause, we have had a very wet year, he has kept his weight on, any one else had any problems like this?

We have one Coloured Ryeland ewe, Lucy, that always gets a scooty bottom. The rest are fine. Apart from that, SHE'S  fine. I think they must be like folk - all different constitutions.

One of my GFD lambs (long lament in another thread) has been squitty since we got him. No worms, no cocci, no fluke, so I wonder if he is just a squitty little chap. He eats well, is in fair condition and is perky in himself. I've been giving him Provita rumen stimulant, no effect so far, and will try the Pfizer scour formula next. Worth a go with Bert? I've just moved the sheep off their grubby little patch onto the aftermath of the hay and now another 2 are squitty.  :(

andywalt several things with this post  first the ram   to me it does not look in the best of condition prior to tupping   which could  be attributed to it shitting himself downhill    also you indicated  that human crap is bright green   if that were me i would be consulting a doctor pretty quick :farmer:

I have a Soay ram whos always 'loose' in summer, starts as soon as the first grass comes through and doesn't stop til late Autumn.  Very frustrating but I think everyone is right, it's just him.  Luckily he's never had fly strike because of it, probably cos he sheds his fleece.
He seems to have passed the problem to one of his sons too so I'm afraid thats him retired from the breeding plan.

ANDY you say he's been wormed twice , different wormer types for maybe 90 kg animal ?? then why not do a worm egg count to check for clearance/ resistance . Any history of fluke   ?? . Give a mineral ,vitamin  drench/injection ignore the poo and get him onto the best grass you have , 12wks is not long to put on maybe 2 condition scores .    :sunshine:

I sorted my ewes out with greeny poo purely but putting them in some hay. mine a re greedy pigs and guzzle hay despite much lush grass. (all my grass is lush and fresh at mo - no poor pasture.) 48 hours later, scour cured!

I second the hay, once the poo has been checked at the vets.

Just having a squint at the pic - there looks to be a lot of clover on your ground - I reckon it could well be too good for the ram with all the rain we've had.

Were it me, I wouldn't feed him up/put him on better pasture. I want my working rams to be fit, not fat.
