Title: Posting the same topic on multiple boards
Post by: Dan on August 07, 2012, 09:36:40 am
Sometimes you may want to post exactly the same topic on multiple boards. Please do not do this! It leads to fragmented and confused discussion. In most cases we will remove the duplicates and leave a single post in what we think is the most appropriate board.

If you do feel your topic really needs to be posted in multiple locations, please post it in the most appropriate board, and on the other boards post a link to that topic, and then lock those topics. This way everyone will know the topic exists and all discussion is contained in a single thread.

To lock a topic just click the 'Lock topic' link at the bottom of your post. NB: you can only lock your own topics.

Hurrah!! Thanks Dan, it drives me loopy seeing the same topic in 3 or 4 boards - with one or two replies on different boards.
Good idea about the Link n Lock as well if peeps really do need to post in more than one.

Yes I'm with L&M  :relief:

I have noticed though that it's mostly newbies who do this before they are used to how the forum works.
