Title: Bargain or not?
Post by: escapedtothecountry on August 03, 2012, 10:53:05 pm
I have tasked myself with laying a patio down the side of the new bit of our house. It is going to be quite large 10m by 5m. Anyway - the cost of even the cheapest paving slabs is a tad large. So onto ebay I went and bought what has been described as 5m by 5m of

"PAVING BUILDING STONE. NOT SURE OF THE TYPE BUT IT'S YORKSHIRE OR COTSWOLD COLOUR WHEN CLEANED. "

On top of that there is a 5m by 0.5m high wall out of the same stone. Photos attached.

What do you reckon a fair price is. Let me add that we took our pick up truck and filled the back to the brim and haven't event got 1/4 of it so that given you an idea of how much there is.

As a builder the price I would offer for 'crazy paving'  if they were a minimum of 45mm thick is £3/m2
I'm in the N/E of Scotland so price in your area....?

Ha ha - funny how he hasn't actually spoken to us for 5 months since we didn't just roll over to his silly demands.
