We paid a fortune for grass seed last year and the grass is now flowering.
There are some patches that need reseeding and - rather than buy more seed - can't I just pull the seeds off the grass that's already there??
If yes - then how do I know when they are ready??

Once they are crispy dry and start to shed naturally. I have some beautiful briza with tiny seed heads which I'm going to start off in modules for next year. I daren't just sprinkle it as there is lots of 'weed' grass germinating so I wouldn't know which is which.

Thanks FW.
I can pull the seeds off but they are still quite moist. I shall keep checking them.
