Title: It starts, feed price increaces
Post by: tizaala on July 13, 2012, 05:25:16 pm
Went to get 6 assorted bags of feed today and found the usual order had cost us £2 :50p more than normal.  Rolled barley up by .50p a bag   whole oats up 25p . why , this is last years harvest , bought at spot prices , combines  aren't rolling yet. >:( >:(

Feed prices are likely to shoot up further as the weather here and drought in America is likely to have a significant impact. Spot future prices have risen considerably.

Expect it will be all feed prices including our groceries. Any excuse. I remember when potato prices went up and all the chip shops raised the price of a bag of chips 50%. They never came back down again so we've never had fish and chips again either!

NFD you are having a laugh putting the price of eggs up    and there is the dairy industry on its knees because the price is being screwed down :farmer:

Apparently the soya bean harvest has been rotten, but the good news is that wheat crops were record breaking (according to Pig World) so maybe, just maybe it'll not be too bad  :fc:
