Title: Panic stations
Post by: tizaala on July 06, 2012, 10:37:25 am
Gabi went to check on the sheep this morning after a night of torrential rain, Our ram Colin was very distressed and shouting for help after he had gone into the the wood to shelter and got stranded.  to get into the bit of woodland he had to cross the brook, normally only a foot wide, then the little stream turned into a raging torrent, we rang all our neighbours to try and get someone to help drag him back as Gabi didn't want to get stuck as well.
One neighbour had just left to go to Cardiff, another was off sheering up country, two more didn't answer the phone, eventually we got hold of Lucy from 2 holdings away , she had to leave her car and wade through 18 inches of water on our track to get to us, so the girls set off to rescue Colin.....only to find that the old fraud had jumped back on his own over 8 feet of fast water.
Bloody sheep , don't you just love em. ???

Glad he got back safe and sound Doug but it doesn't sound too great where you are.
We are a bit further south and live on a hill. So although its raining we don't have much lying water.

Glad he's back safe and sound - poor lad.

You and Gabi take care.

Oh no, poor you!! and I'm assuming you are still out of action for a bit Doug? This weather holds many challenges for us in the next few days, lets hope everyone stays safe and our animals come through OK too  :fc:   Headline on our local rag 'Worcestershires deluge day'... oh good...can't wait  ::)

I can't believe how wet the ground is again. Let us pray for three days of fine weather because that is all it takes up here to dry things out  again. Thanks goodness they have a roof on the centre court! do you think they would put one over Tizaala at least until the plaster comes off.

Thank goodness for good neighbours, if not for floods and 'making a fuss' tups  :D
