Title: Magpie moths and redcurrants, white currants and gooseberries
Post by: Dans on June 17, 2012, 02:42:15 pm
Hi all,

Probably a slightly silly question but I've got one of each of the above bushes in my garden and I've just noticed that the caterpillars are out in force. I understand that the moth itself is in decline at the moment, is there anywhere I can pick the caterpillars off too where they'll survive but leave my fruits alone, and are they really all that bad for the plant?

I'm torn between wanting lots of fruit and not wanting to wage war on something that's already declining. I might be slightly soft :innocent:

Thanks for any help.
