30ft by 50ft 2 pens built ,this is a new way to build runs. you can see my colection off christmas trees over 100 round the pens ,

Apologies for my ignorance, taking it these are for hens, how many will you be keeping in them and would you be rotating them at all. ( just enquiring as I want a few more hens and our space is limited.)

new system 1 pen att the back 1 at the front all hens go in ether pen 6 highbred sussex D104 8 barred rock and 3 or 4 road island red .so 18 birds and 2 cock birds ,All chicks hatched cock birds white and all hens brown sext link .they onley go in the runs on fine days and hard base on wet days .no more small pens to much work .

nice work ;) how far apart are your posts? your netting looks nice and tight what was your method for tensioning?

I've got room for more then.
We have only 3 hens in 15x10ft run covered 50/50 with roofing/mesh, with 15x15ft run adjoining with centre apple tree used when we are around as too big to net for predators. My prob is the mud! in one half of the main protected run. I'm worried that we don't rotate so am considering another setup but due to not being happy with the mud with this one am looking for ideas for the second area.
Once sorted I would like a few more hens, either older sexed or day old sexlinked as I am unable to keep cockerels and have nobody to help with my first ever dispatch and don't want to do it without experience by my side. ( confidence lacking :innocent: )
Your pens are pretty high too. They look great. I want one of those ::)

how high does the fence need to be to keep foxes from jumping in?
I am building a new run off a shed this week and really findng it hard to come up with the right design
also have you got any skirting on it or a bottom to it to stop foxes digging underneath?

firstley i have never seen a fox. att the top of the runs there is a 1 meter space att the top so birds can go back and forward the 3 sheds that they live in are lockt up att night this is the set up for young stock onley the small pens are all going and just having runs .the set up you see is next to the house .so i will build 5 runs and grow the stock from home.im fed up off the tat around .The space is 8ft each post then post kreet in each on a good day you can do 4 posts with other work .iv also put large christmas trees all round the cost from the mill was £6 pound post,post kreet £3 planks £3 pound 50 meter netting £47 about £250 each pen naw iff you sell eggs stock just get 6 posts and put them in then a bit more till you have the pen . i have no skill so take time use level and laser .its worth the time to do itt .iff you came to get stock the runs look good sheds etc .
