going to pick up 4 kune kunes tommorow alll boys 2 x 2 ie not been together...... will be let out at mine ie new ground, going to spray them with cheap deorderant, whats my chances of them not fighting, there is a plan b ie separate areas.
-
How old are they harry?
-
Because they are all being moved to new surroundings you may be lucky, there will be a scrap as a pecking order needs to be established, but beware fights can be really nasty, I find buckets of soapy water over each pig helps, I assume these are the young ones your picking up to fatten? If you can keep them separate it might be best to avoid any distress, to you and them!
-
they are about 9 months old
-
At 9 months, personally, I wouldn't put them together.
-
Nope, I wouldn't mix them either Harry.

Give them all a feed with beer in their grain or give them a shot of stresnil, and they will wake up all mates..... never fails....

Harry don't believe jellybean its down right irresponsible. Keep them separate because they will fight to the death at that age and do you want that on your conscience?

Have you tried....... if not then you should at least their are no fights.......They sleep for around an hour....... Stresnil can also be used to cart large boars to market, but you dont wan to over do it other wise he wont walk off at the other end.. can also give Stresnil to a sow when she is having trouble. farrowing..... if you need to do an internal then it is much safer than getting a broken arm....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I definitely wouldn't risk it!!!
Have you really tried that jellybean?????? With boars that old?
I wouldn't have thought an hour or so sleep would stop them.

It certainly does.....best thing since sliced bread was made.

Stresnil should only be used under veterinary supevision and is a last resort for sows aggressive at births or when an animal needs to be sedated for vetinary attention, it should not be used routinely to give you a quieter life.
Your choice Harry!

Eeek!
Harry - if these are all full boars I would definately NOT risk it - yep, even with KKs - no way :o
At 9 months-old they should be getting near to slaughter weight - if they have been living in pairs anyway, could you not take the most mature 2 direct to the abbattoir?
