Title: what not to put in the tunnel now?
Post by: northfifeduckling on May 21, 2012, 06:05:25 pm
as we have to work around the hens (no time to design everything towards a new fence!) I'd like to put as much in the tunnel and greenhouse as possible for now. Besides obvious heat lovers, what is ok and can put up with it? How will onions fare? Any recommendations what NOT to put in the warmth?
Cheers  :&>

well, I reckon the issue is early bolting  ;D . maybe you are eating them quicker than they can bolt  ;D ;D :&>

Yes I am sure you are right, suitable for early/late salads in shoulder seasons but not throughout main growing season when will do fine outside

I grow my broad beans in the PT - my outside veg patch is a bit exposed, and they always do well.

Have tried this year onions inside too, in amongst the tomatoes, will see how they do...

Have found that spinach only early in the season ok, bolts of course, same for all kinds of salads.
