well, some of you may know that we have 'doubts'about charlie our turkey stag
2 of the girls have beenbroody and are 3 weeks into sitting.
well yesterday and today he's been sitting on the eggs with them!!
is this normal (as it is in other breeds) or does it just confirm our suspisions!
-
Oh ..... a modern man ;D
Well done Charlie. ;D ;D ;D
-
It doesn't make him a bad person ;) Sit tight Charlie for Gay Rights ;D
-
Typical - I swap eggs and now you tell me he's not 100% man!!
Sorry, just kidding :x
I think he's just a new man, helping out his girls
(I'll let you know next week if Mrs Light Sussex is surprised by her giant turkey children!!)
-
LB- we did warn you!! ;)
we'll let you know if any come to fuition

congratulations
are some of them from us?
if so, the yellow ones are boys!
:chook:
I don't mind about the turkeys - Jay says if they don't hatch, we'll ask you for some!! (I'm undecided!)
And Mrs LS is no use as an egg layer if she's broody, so its giving her a job ;)

The broody hens here are in a double two-storey rabbit hutch,
I mentioned to o/h that the Maran sitting on RIR/LSxRIR eggs is "due" tomorrow at the earliest ...
so today he went to the "top Flat" that houses Mrs Light Sussex and her fostered turkey eggs (due Sunday-ish) and got a Biiiig peck for disturbing her!
that'll teach him to listen!
(and gets me revenge for him telling me this morning what happens next in the DVD I fell asleep to last night... who dies & how!!)
-
well 3 fertile eggs so far (2 died as fell in the water) have hatched
yay he'sa modern man who helps out (after helping himself!!! ;) )
-
its sad about the two that died :(
at least you know now he's done the business, good boy Charlie
fingers crossed for our 6 eggs - getting close to "due date" now!
