My Mum who is 85 tomorrow, started spinning last year and has also begun using her knitting machines again. She sold all of her knitting prior to Christmas but was not hopeful for the new year as people are struggling a bit around here. Her friend took her things to the community centre and sold the lot!
She is delighted as she has has requests for more and has had the fun of seeing villagers wearing her things.
I just thought it might be an outlet for others if they have local community centres, she did not charge much but locals seem pleased.

she could try listing some of her items on ebay, people are always intrested in hand made items and she would reach alot more people! just list them for the cost of the materials and postage and see how things go! you never know! :)

Thats a good idea stephen she is always on Ebay buying although the community centre do not make a charge for selling ans Ebay do. She is a bit an Ebay mad surfer anyway, when she had a stroke last year (which she fully recovered from) she taught the specialist how to use Ebay, he would sit for hours looking with her in his own time.
Just going to sort her birthday lunch out as she wanted to spend it in the caravan in the field with the dogs, sheep, ponies and hens!

Wow, she sounds a remarkable woman!
My learnt to make lace at 70 although she had very bad Rh Arthritis. Alas she passed away a year last February, but we had so much craft material and equipment to sort out, we couldn't believe what she used to do, even with her disabilities.
