It is with great sadness that I am selling my project. My health is not good and I cannot continue what I have started so it is time to pass it on to someone who can.

The price reflects the cost of the land, the caravan, costs involved in setting caravan up (concrete base, septic tank, water, electricity, siting caravan). Hardcore, fencing, tree work, field drainage, ploughing, harrowing, grass seeding etc. etc. Basically what it has cost us to get it to where it is now.
I had my business plan accepted by the council planning and have been told if a viable smallholding/agricultural business is run from here, permission for a house would be given.
So lots of the hard work done already!

Hi what is the land like-is is any good for pigs?

Sounds wonderful and ideal for some one just starting out but with a good additional income from a work from home type job....it even appeals to me on paper but not physicaly, no income either!! LIKE though!!
-
Sounds good for someone wanting to start out.
-
Thanks Sandy and Sabrina  :)
Arl, part of what I was going to do was breed and rear pigs, so yes, in my opinion, suitable for pigs.
I forgot to add - There is about 4 acres or so of pine trees which were planted as Xmas trees before we bought the land. We sold some last year in Dec. so that is something else which would generate income already established on site.

Sorry you're having to give up :( but I hope you find a buyer quickly. Looks like a good buy.

Hi, thanks for reminding me about this forum, had forgotten it existed. Gnashing my teeth in frustration over trying to get finance to buy your land!
-
Wishing very hard you can sort it out Lesley

Had 2 offers and both have fallen through :( still for sale.
-
I should add that I've put it with an agent now as I have a lot of hospital appointments in the coming months. I'll put the link on to the selling agents as soon as I get it. :fc:

Must buy a lottery ticket...

Sorry to hear that two sales have fallen through. Hope you get it sold soon.

Oh no :( I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope you've made some progress now.

Three parties all with notes of interest. Who-ever sells their property first will put an offer in. It's just a waiting game at the moment :fc: I hope to buy a wee house with a reasonable garden so I can grow my veggies and maybe have some of my chooks there. I am lucky that the farmer where I keep my horse gave me a wee corner for my menagerie :chook: in the meantime :)

Has it sold? I am so tempted - it'sjust the weather that puts me off! Although Norfolk hasn't had a great summer..... :raining:
-
It's still available at the moment.

Weather's not that bad down here - it's a lot worse where I moved from - Aberdeenshire ::)
-
wish i had enough pocket money, its almost ideal for what i want but i'm 2 years away from being able to commit someone's going to get a nice place though by the looks of it!!!

As a matter of interest, would a quarter acre plot be big enough for any smallholder, if there was perhaps the possibility of renting a bit of an adjacent field?

I'm quoting William Cobbett, "Cottage Economy" (first published in 1821 or so, and still in print):
"I purpose to show, that a large part of the food of even a large family may be raised from forty rod, or a quarter of an acre..."
He grows food for a house cow on that, too. But he kind of reckons fruit is a waste of space, and thinks bread and small beer is a good diet for your kids before they go out to work in the fields all day. (I think he bought in grain, so wouldn't have been totally self sufficient on that area...)

So sad for you that you are unable to continue with your project. It looks a lovely set up and someone will be very lucky to get it. Hope it sells soon.

Price drop again, need to sell this land......
-
I've got my plot on there, never had a sniff, just a scam email. Putting it with an estate agent now.
-
Thinking of that too, been too long now, best of luck with yours :)
-
Thanks, you too. If I had the money, I'd buy it.
-
Slight tangent here, but would it be manageable if you had e.g. a Helpx or wwoofer to stay?
-
Thanks for the thought, but my daughter also wasn't happy living so far from all her friends, so we have moved already, it is just for sale.
-
another year or two and id be all over it, need wife to graduate before i can even try and buy anything, good luck!!!
