Hi all,
One of the aluminium greenhouses gifted to me has no sealing strips left, only on the door,I have trawled the internet to no avail, the strip itself is rather like the shape of a screw thread light bulb! and is very small.
Seeing that I have been unable to locate the beading -and I have no idea of the manufacturer of the greenhouse are there any other options open for me,i.e.silicone sealant?? I have seem foam strips but unsure whether they would fit because mine has this small channel running through the centre,it is only some 2-3mm wide.
Advice very much appreciated please with the pro's and cons of using something rather than the specified seal?

Well, the specialist greenhouse company Two Wests and Elliott seem to recommend a foam glazing strip.
Here's the link greenhouse glazing strip (http://www.twowests.co.uk/TwoWestsSite/product/GST.htm)
I'd avoid silicone sealant, it makes it a right 'pane' ;) to replace one if you break it!

Could use a fine bead of high temperature Silicone Leghorn. But don't fit the glass until it has almost set, so there is a thick skin on it. Then wipe a little grease where the pane rests on the seal. I've done this when fitting vehicle lighting units to get a seal to the body. Mondeo rear light assemblies. The Silicone when not fully cured has a little give in it so you will get a good seal and it will set finally to the exact shape.
Bit long winded. Perhaps the foam strip is better after all!

Thanks Chris,
I have still been unable to locate the right seal,I have thought about some foam strip but this will not stick to either end frames as the seal gutter is raised, mmm,I may well use your idea to squirt down the gutter strips!
