Title: Small Flock Shearing in Wiltshire
Post by: ScotsGirl on February 21, 2012, 08:19:04 pm
I am trying to get ahead of the game here.... I have approximately 16 sheep which will need shearing around early May.  Normally I manage most of them myself with either hand shears or electric but as I now have 3 pedigree Suffolks plus 2 crosses (oh and 2 Southdown x) I would appreciate professional help and maybe a quick lesson.

Anyone out there do small flocks around the Marlborough area (SN9)?

Last year I used the Singing Shearer (he's on here) and he was fab. Came and did my 5 ewes on time and with no fuss. I think he travels round the country at shearing time so if you let him know where you are he will book you in when he's in the area. I can't recommend his services enough

Hi both,
Was pleased to hear you have used the singing shearer Wellies :)
just to say Scotsgirl that we are hoping the singing shearer (his name is Philip) will be doing our shetlands in May / June and we are in Hereford HR6, if he can get a few others booked in at the same time. Not sure how far away we are tho
if you Google singing shearer you will find his website

Alex Gould always used to do mine, I don't know if he's still in the area but I shall see if I can find him for you ;)

Thanks, I will try Philip as I did make contact with him last year but did them myself in the end.  Can't face all the Suffolks though this year!
