Title: Feeding sheep
Post by: pigs in space on January 22, 2012, 10:33:39 am
Hi, advice please.

We have the opportunity of collecting, on a regular basis, used hops and corn from a small local beer brewer.
My question is "Can you feed sheep these hops and/or corn"?

Thanks.

I don't know if you can feed them to sheep, although someone else will  :)   I was hoping to get hold of some to compost for my veggie garden, but apparently now most of the breweries are selling their leftovers to the power stations for biomass fuel  :(

yes the mash can be fed to sheep  but don't keep it to long it does go mouldy
the hops are bitter and even pigs don't eat them   but if they have got nothing else to eat they will eat them :farmer:
