Title: Bread
Post by: Lesley Silvester on January 21, 2012, 12:05:29 am
I have been offered a supply of slightly stale bread for my goats.  There's more than they can eat so I'm looking for ways to use it up.  I'm gluten intolerant and OH can't eat too much.

Yesterday I made him a savoury bread and butter pudding.  Any ideas for recipes that use bread would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Bread pudding (not bread & butter pudding) is fab, and the bread makes up only about 1/3 of the ingredients by weight.

There's a recipe here that looks right: http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/13355/bread-pudding (http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/13355/bread-pudding)

Now I'm inspired to go and dig out our recipe and make some over the weekend.

Crumb it and use it in sausages instead of rusk.

Thanks for these.  I thought about crumbing it but then I couldn't eat whatever I made and I'm fed up with cooking two meals.  I also thought about bread pudding.  I used to love it when my mum made it but could never get it just right myself.  I'll try that recipes.

Wish a knew someone with pigs who is near enough.
