Why not go to the farms that produce them for the Christmas market and see if you could buy a hen from them?

We went to the guy who sells his chicken on the market - ready to eat ones that is - asked him if we could buy some live hens and a cock bird from him when we first moved to France.  He was only too happy to oblige.

He did sell them by the weight of course since that is how he sells his meat.

I have rang a few local turkey producers but they all seem to buy in day olds but I will keep trying. Thanks for the input :turkey:

Hello,

We bought two batches of turkey eggs (Bourbon Reds) from separate sellers off Ebay last year. From this we reared stock for Xmas and made sure we had two hens and a stag (from separate batches) to produce this year's Xmas stock.

If you have an incubator it could well be an easier way of doing things.

Cheers

Gavin
