And you thought I'd never do it, didn't you tizaala!
Sorry about the quality : it's dingy in the hemel and I'm not putting them out till Saturday - we're forecast some evil stuff tonight and tomorrow.
-
congratulations!! ;D :trophy:

Excellent ;D Four wethers? What does Davy think about them being in his stable :D

Yes, 4 wethers, 2010-born. They have very little condition on them, they won't be taking that one-way trip anytime soon.
What Davy doesn't know... there've been all sorts of critters in his stable over the last months while the cubicle shed was refurbished! Calves, cow and calf, calving cow, lambs, ewes, and now the CM wethers. I nearly farrowed Meg in there but the weather turned kindly! Next year's project (or one of them) is to refurb the pony stables so I can actually use them for ponies! (Earth floors are fine for occasional use but not much fun for every night use for a half-a-ton of native gelding who eats all his straw. ::))

And thank you too jaykay - they've just managed to stand and look at some other visitors too, so I think (fingers crossed) they'll settle down well.
-
Colliewoman, they are rather nice ;D Sally, you need some females now, definitely :D
-
Congratulations, look forward to hearing all about them. Don't know much about sheep but enjoy reading about other peoples and learning as I read. :xmas: :xmas:

Sally your boys look lovely - looking forward to seeing some outside pictures - although bet they are enjoying the shelter
CollieWoman - lovely to see your x's - I have 2 Castlemilks and 2 shetlands with a Castlemilk ram lamb - think he's doing something - will have to wait and see - so hopefully I may have a couple of x's like your next spring

CONGRATULATIONS Now I have to get to work with the camera , Our lot have really made themselves at home now and wait at the gate for their breakfast , they are so tame they nearly knock you over to get at the food , We moved them into the horse's field after we brought the mares in for the winter, it was so easy as they would follow a bucket to Lands End. The horns make handling very easy . They look a nice bunch, well done you.
-
Thank you all for the congratulations; it has been a bit of a quest, I must say!
I think they're looking better already - they certainly are now interested in my arrival :)
Looking forward to seeing how your little beauties have come on, tizaala

MORE MOORITS AS REQUESTED.
After comparing these latest pics with our originals it looks like they have all put on some condition and also looks like Colin has done his job , some very round bellies there.
-
AND A FEW MORE MOORITS
-
They're looking really well, tizaala, thanks for posting. When do you start lambing?
-
We dont expect the first lambs until the beginning of March, Plenty soon enough for me as everything is so wet and misserable here at the moment, We will bring them into the barn to lamb as we can keep an eye out on the camera for any problems.

We finally got the little 'geeps' out today - and what a performance! They loaded no bother, took their meds and had the farm's mark put on them no bother... but oh! If I hadn't taken pictures no-one would ever believe how much kit and time it took to get 4 little primitive sheep into a field...!

Ha ha. :D :D
They were waiting for their cake at dusk - I'll tell you tomorrow if they spend the night in their new home! It should 'do' for four of them, do you think..? (You can just see them in the top right corner if you look really hard!)
-
That looks big enough for a few more if you ask me ;)

Oh, do you think so? ;) :D

Try to learn at least one new thing every night and often learn a lot more. Decided I needed to find out about Moorit's. Google tells me they were created as a decorative breed in the 1900s to adorn the parkland of a lord's estate. Should I address you as Lady Sally? ;D ;D ;D ;D :sheep: :sheep: :sheep: :sheep:

Aye, to be decorative and provide good meat and make good cloth for the estate workers.
Should I address you as Lady Sally? ;D ;D ;D ;D :sheep: :sheep: :sheep: :sheep:
Lady Muck, more like! :D :D As you can see from the fb pics, it's hardly 'parkland' here... ::)
-
And I had you down as a proper Lady, Sally. Well what are the estate workers having next Christmas, new woollen ganzees? :D
