Title: Definition of a croft

...the southern section being divided into crofts (defined as a small farm surrounded by paperwork)

I heard Sue Arnold on the radio one day, saying that her husband was a farmer and that therefore they lived in an Area of Outstanding Piles of Paperwork.

I can barely even joke about it, these days...  >:( :'(<tearing hair>
