Title: Lucky went exploring
Post by: Roxy on December 03, 2011, 07:44:05 am
Was down the field settling in visitors (Darrens the goat, not mine - in case you wonder if guests stay out in our field!)  Got back, went to feed the pigs as it was going dark, and no Lucky in the little yard.  Checked their house, no .....had another check, as she is tiny, but nothing.  Looked for elf size prints in the mud .......looked at the gate onto the lane, but mesh across there to stop the hens and hopefully a piglet.  Checked the stable next door, scanned the field.  Begnning to panic now!!  Then further over the field, where the cats live in a van container body, they were standing at the door, looking at something.  Went over, and the door was just ajar, and from inside happy oinks could be heard.

Guess who had climbed up on the cats bed, and was doing a dance on the cushion ;D?  Much squealing as I carried her back to her yard, and a very vocal Mogwai.  Thank goodness it was not ,Mogwai as I would not have carried her.

Stll cannot see how she escaped.

Little pigs are like mice and whippets. If they can get the flat side of their head through or under the the rest of them, with a bit of a wriggle, will follow ;D ;D

It sounds as if she was having a great time.  Perhaps you need to put a cushion in her bed  ;D

lol...i lost a pet lamb once, he disappeared out of the barn and i was convinced he'd been stolen or snaffled by an kestrel or something. it was hours later when i found him in the same barn sleeping right tight behind the giant round straw bales. ...and id looked there and called him for ages. only when it was dinnertime did he decided to greet.
not a nice feeling tho when u think theyre lost!
i bet ur pig was happy as larry tho! lol

phew, thank goodness she was soon found,  she might have been carried off by a sparrow or anything!
Just shows what they are used to - a warm cosy bed indoors, and cats!!

Tell her from me she's a little monkey and I don't either you or us to be worried like that again....  :pig:

sounds like they'd prefer a few home comforts in their sty/kennel...
a nice padded bed, a hot water bottle (Lucky used to unwrap the bottle & lie on it red hot!) and some feline company :D
and maybe some background music ;)

How about some candles?

as long as the candle aren't fruit scented - then they'd eat them!
