well we went with our 4 boys, 2 girls to the abbatoir (thanks Little blue for helping get them in as OH left the feed bucket back at home)
Just spoken to our butcher (as we pay him the kill/cut price)
for the kill and butcher (bag and labellled) they are currently charging £10.
they said it was because the price of rhe fleeces is excellent at the moment.
 :sheep: :sheep: :sheep: :sheep: :sheep: :sheep::thumbsup:
as well as joints, chops etc
they are making mince, mint burgers and mint sausages..... :yum: :yum: :yum:

Bargain, I would pay more than this to cover my butcher's slaughter fee (he pays the abbatoir less than I would if I sent them in as a direct customer), never mind the cutting on top.

Goodness, that is cheap!!
Not long ago fleece prices were that bad, no one wanted them .....but good they are up in price, as thats definitely helped you get a bargain!

Costs £30 here, very good value, how do they treat the animals when you get them there?

I paid £29 at C & S meats here in Dorset, butchered by Blackmore Vale Butchery. Lovely abattoir though, nice and friendly and great animal welfare

they treat them very well. My butcher collects straight from the abbatoir and he is cheaper for the kill/cut than the abbatoir kill/cut rates. He is also very good as he puts up with all my worries and queries.
The abbatoir are all very good, cheerful calm and supportive (even if they don't want to know their names!!!! ;))

I use C & S and Blackmore Vale - the only downside is the drive to collect from BMV. They seem to farm themselves and were certainly full of advice about sheep breeds/when to bring them to slaughter.
