Title: Escape to the country, my goats.
Post by: plumseverywhere on November 23, 2011, 07:43:35 am
The 'Escape to the country' episode featuring my goats and soap will be on 30th November. I will be hiding and not watching it. I still cringe remembering how they put words in my mouth and it felt really wooden LOL  ;D But I promised to let people know, and now I have  ;)   :goat:

I think that's right. Hubby took the phonecall and I shall be safely stood in the playground collecting my children and pretending its not happening  :D  Still, would be lovely for business if it brings me some more orders - am just feeling a bit shy about it all!

You should be proud plums and tell the world.  Put it on your website, "As seen on Escape to the Country".  People love that kind of thing.

I quite like that idea, thanks Cinderhills - might well do that  :)  Need to also put on the website that I'm closing the shop for xmas on 10th because of Indi's little op (well I say little, the poor mite has to have 5 teeth out under GA due to severe reflux as a baby which rotted her tooth enamal as they formed  :'(  )

Thank you, I will do. She's oblivious to it all which is good! She has only just turned 7 so to her the only thing she actually heard the dentist say was "only ice cream and soup afterwards..." so the words ice cream are stuck in her head!! looks like I'll be making goats milk ice cream just for India  :)

My daughter Hannah had to have exactly the same thing done at that age, her teeth were in a terrible state, they were very weak.(She got that from her fathers side!) She was absolutely fine after the op, although it didnt help me to feel any better. All the very best, I hope she enjoys her icecream.

Thank you ever so much Mary, that's reassured me - I've been losing sleep over this, I feel so bad for her. My husband also had the same problem but they didn't extract his teeth, so perhaps the reflux is the main key and is hereditary from his side. She actually asked me how many sleeps till she has it done tonight so its on her mind more than I realised.

I am so excited as I have just watched the section with Plums in it.  You were great!  It was so lovely to see your gorgeous goats, and also to visualize your soap making set up.  I found it fascinating.  Well done you.  Hope it gets you more business and don't forget to mention the programme everywhere you go!  And of course, it's so nice to put a face to a name.

I suddenly remembered yesterday afternoon .....so downed tools and put my laptop on to watch!!

It was so nice to "see" you and your lovely goats - and also see your soaps too.  I am sure people watching will be looking on the internet to find your soap making business, bringing in new customers for you.

Lisa - you were very natural and not a bit affected by the cameras - the goats behaved well too didnt they lol
Reggie certainly looks smart - and Savannah she looked lovely too- meant to ask you saw the milking stand again in the field - do you milk in all weathers ??? outside

Thank you for your lovely comments!

I do milk outside, all seasons/weathers  :) there always seems to be a quick enough break in the weather for me to dash out and do it - luckily only milking once a day now and I can only remember once getting drenched over the last year so its not too bad! one day I'll have a cover over it though, just finding the time!

I watched it last night on iplayer (don't have TV) and thought you looked as if you'd often been on TV you were so natural.  I think I'm in love with Savannah.     She's gorgeous.  :goat:

I knew I wouldn't be able to guarantee being in at 3pm and had a visit to my Mum lined up, so called her and asked her to record it!  We all watched it last night, after I had given her the goats' milk bath salts I had brought for her and thought you, your goats and your kitchen and soap-making all looked lovely.  :)  Savannah is beautiful and behaved so well!  And the soaps looked good enough to eat!

Just watched it on bbc2 scotland last night. Looked very warm and summery, lovely watching and you were not wooden. In fact it got my OH interested in my goats and he went up to visit them today :o he was talking about soap making etc from them , something on my to do list ::) Well done.

Im so sorry, I missed it. I was out shopping and I forgot to ask OH to record it. I cant even watch it on iplayer as we cant get it over here. Shame its not on Youtube, I'd be able to watch it on there. It sounds like it went very well. Have you started looking for and agent, it sounds as if you AND your goats will be needing one very soon!! ;)

;D  oh Anke, if you could see my kitchen today!! its a tip!!  half way through that filming a mouse (that had been brought in earlier by snowball) ran across the kitchen. I was laughing so much there were tears pouring down my face. we had to take a few goes at that one  :)
Go for it Hermit!! its addictive though...!!
THanks Mary, I think the goats definately do - its their second tv appearance this year having been on the BBC news a few months ago!
