Title: Neighbours Pekin Bantams face turned yellow!
Post by: Mel on October 08, 2011, 01:37:28 pm
Hello all

My neighbour has some Pekin Bantams and showed me on which her head over the last week has turned yellow! I have never seen this before and thought it quite strange-do you think it could be worms? That's the only thing I can think of?

I would welcome your Input please?

My first thought would be to check for red mite and treat bird and house with appropriate powder/spray. HTH

I agree. She sounds anaemic to me. Or, maybe, some sort of fungal infection?

I have had a good look at her yesterday-my word, after I put her down,my arms were crawling with bugs :o you know, vent lice, red mite...I gave the neighbours some diatom and advised regards cleaning their hut out.

I did not notice anything other than the yellowness!
