Hello,
My name is Cheri and I live in Ceredigion West Wales.
I confess I dont have a small holding and the only animals I have is a Great Dane and an African Grey Parrot. My garden is a jungle too. I have aspirations to turn the garden into a beautiful place filled with flowers and vegetables but I dont see me ever getting there at this rate.
I am extremely interested in all things to do with reducing my impact on the environment and so I love to make my own jams, chutneys etc I like to buy local where possible (and where funds allow) and I aspire to making my own wine.

Hi Cheri and welcome to TAS!
sounds like you have a project on your hands but its not impossible! just start small :)
we grow a few veggies (mainly potatoes, beans, peas and the easy stuff!) and have a large orchard from which we make over 400L of plum wine a year. very nice it is too ;) we keep goats and I make soap from their milk which went from hobby to a business (see what I mean about starting small?! weird stuff happens!!) and a dozen or so hens who provide our neighbours with eggs (and early morning alarm clock courtesy of my 8 yr olds cockerel)
just enjoy whatever you choose to do :)

Hi and welcome from wet Carnoustie
plums is right - start small and move out from there. A whole garden can be a bit daunting so pick a wee bit, get that going then expand. And only grow things you love to eat - not what you think you should. Loving the produce is a great motivator. :)

Greetings from sunny Shropshire. I too only have a large garden but have goats, fruit trees and vegetables. Good luck with yours and I agree - start small.
