Title: Weaners in Scotland
Post by: Jayhawk on February 19, 2009, 07:58:43 pm
We are looking for weaners to fatten in a month or so. Have had Berkshires, OSB, Saddlebacks, Middle Whites, Tamworths. Loved them all,but would like to try more breeds esp GOS and Large Black. Anyone know of contacts in SE Scotland, NE England, Borders? Thanks, Johnny

Hi Johnny,
We got a couple of cross weaners from a farmer in Plains at Airdrie, unfortunately I can't remember his name, but he does advertise in Adtrader from time to time.
Hope that helps,
Karen  :pig:

Your best bet is to try the breeders' club websites. Both GOS and Large Black sites have a directory of members. They'll be the best people to buy pigs from.

Bidgiemire - the folk who make the arcs - are near Biggar in Lanarkshire and they have Large Blacks sometimes for sale.

Thanks both. GOS website has produced nothing near so far. Going to try Large Black now.
