Title: Allotment advice please..........quite urgent.
Post by: knightquest on August 12, 2011, 09:53:40 pm: Just had a phone call to say that we can have an allotment WOO HOO!!!!!

My question is - we have a choice between two, assuming they are not next to each other, what should I be looking for when I go to choose?

Going tomorrow at 11.30 and I am VERY excited. :)

Try and get the one nearer the water supply
Try and get the one away from any weak points for opportunist thefts
Try to get one with any sheds/water butt left by a previous person if thats poss

Congratulations! Have a lot of fun and more fabulous food than you will know how to eat or give away!

we got half plot in march
it had been rotavted ;D but the whole 2 acres has mares tail :'(
veggies not too bad so far

at the moment painstaking pulling them one by one........ neverending!!!!!!!

crops hhave done well though

The roots can go really deep and tend to lodge themselves under any stones there are - and they break easily.... :( :&>
