Title: Bocking 14 cuttings

After the failure of planting Bocking 14 seeds (I think they went in the day before the start of seven weeks without rain!!) I applied for some Bocking 14 cuttings through tomatoseedsuk on the internet.

I was expecting seedlings but have instead received a couple of sachets of potting compost - presumably containing root cuttings or something.

Any advice on how to plant them? Do I just mix them in with the soil in the patch where I want them to grow?

If the man who is supposed to be helping me with the garden (broke my right arm earlier in the year) ever comes back (went awol 3 weeks ago) I will get him to dig you some roots.

Suziequeue - you can't grow Bocking 14 Comfrey from seeds - has to be root cuttings. Any seeds you have received will not be for the Bocking 14 cultivar but could be for a far more invasive type. Can't imagine what's in the sachets of compost.   Did you miss out when I was sending root cuttings around? I'll let DBE supply you now as I'm not able to dig anything up for a while yet.  Then just plant out your cuttings a couple of feet apart in some nice rich soil.

Yes - definitely still interested DBE.

I bought some root cuttings online but they came to nothing.

I have planted a plant that a firend gave me but it is looking woeful.

I really want to persevere with this.
