I have heard that there are some very good Shetland cattle coming on the market this year. If you are interested, contact Barry Allen at scbasecretary@mypostoffice.co.uk before they are all sold. :cow: :cow:

Thanks for the tip Rosemary and your convincing arguments for choosing shetlands. I would love a house cow but am not sure if I have enough land at just under 2 acre plot. I think I will do some research as you have sparked my interest.

Have just put a reserve on a Shetland heifer and all being well she will arrive in October. Complete novice so any book suggestions would be very welcome. :cow:

Are you just going to have one? Where are you gettig her from? How exciting - you won't regret it :)

I am just getting one to start with as I only have a 2 acre plot. She is from the St Trinians herd. She will have my Hebridean wethers for company and will be able to see my neighbours Highlands on one side and the cattle in the other surrounding fields.

That's Linda McCaig's herd? What colour is she? And how old?
