Title: poorly cade lamb
Post by: lucyandrew on April 26, 2011, 11:02:42 am
hi, i am a new cade lamb owner as of yesterday but we have 1 who appears to be poorly so I am after advice as want to act fast to ensure he stays with us.

we think he is a max of 2 weeks old. he is drinking a bit off the bottle but no where near enough.
He has very crackly breathing, sometimes coughs and has a running nose.

Our shed is very sheltered but he shivers.

I have given him a vitamin boost this morning but his breathing is quiet bad.

Any suggestions would be very welcome.

Thanks,

Lucy

Sounds like pneumonia, ring vet and get antibiotic pronto.

had a trip to vet yesterday and pneumonia was likely.

Antibiotic shot given and fingers crossed he is looking up. He has managed to eat more so things seem to be improving.

Many thanks for your help.

Sheep live outdoors, we made that crucial mistake - keep them in and keep them warm - wrong!!

Hope its OK, does sound like pneumonia?
