i saw a bumble bee hive advertised in a gardening magazine, with queen, workers and food included. apparently they only live one season. has anyone ever tried this? ??? ::)

They don't store honey so unless you want them as pollinators what would be the purpose?
-
guess the gardening mag means them to be pollinators Billy (else it'd be in a beekeeping magazine! ::) ;) )
no need to try it here, we get loads of different bumblers... had to put a couple outside today that'd got in the kitchen

iv no idea what the purpose was, i was thinking the bumble bees were on the decline so might be fun, and keep me entertained until we have time for a real hive. wasnt cheap tho.

Ah, yes. Good point. That'll teach me to read posts properly.
