Title: Pond Liner Advice
Post by: Badger on March 29, 2011, 07:25:12 pm
We are thinking oif building a largish pond (aprox 30ft dia ). Can anybody give us advice on types of liner. Years ago I used a single layer of butyl rubber, to build a small pond. looking around now, some suppliers talk of triple layers of fabrics. Also a friend of mine says that on more industrial size projects they now use a teram fabric, then fill over with blue clay. Any advice on materials, suppliers, and likely cost involved would be much appreciated. IU would like to create something as natural looking as possible, ie : no paved edgings or rockery, basically a farm type pond.

The British Ecological Society has a great web guide which may be of some help - www.britishecologicalsociety.org/educational/pond_resources (http://www.britishecologicalsociety.org/educational/pond_resources) hoping this is gonna be one of our projects this year too  ;D
