Title: Tusks
Post by: ambriel on March 22, 2011, 01:38:58 pm

I'm getting conflicting information from the web on this.

Do castrated male pigs grow tusks, just like their complete brethren?

Our three Kunes were castrated at 10 weeks.

I've heard tusks can be cut off with a wire. Is this a 'treat' in store for our agriculturally-challenged vet? :)

Tusks dont grow when a boar is castrated.    All they do is behave not unlike a sow. If you miss any of the nut, the baor iwll behave like a male, with the nut growing again, and the smell and the froting at the mouth at the sight of a sow on heat.   Castrates  do not get excited at a female of heat either.
