Title: foster lamb help

just picked up 2 foster lambs both are male and about 14 days old nither have been wrung there tails likewise they are texel xs is it to late to ring them cheers

Yes, too late to castrate with rings now. Could use a burdizzo at about a month old (horrible for the operator but apparently less awful for the lambs than rings). Looks like they're destined to have long tails  :)

If they are both destined for the freezer at the end of the summer, you don't need to worry about castrating them. Just keep a close eye on their bums as the long tails can get shitty and hide other problems that might contribute to fly strike.

That's true, we don't do ours in the main (only something that clearly is going to need 'taking over' ie the third triplet occasionally)
