Hi,
I'm currently looking for 2 or 3 Ewes with lambs at foot, Preference would be Dorsets but would concider other calm breeds.
Also would be open to lambs including Orphaned.
Somerset area would be preferable
-
Hi Cobra - I keep Dorsets, but I'm in north Wales. Is that too far for you? I will have a couple of ewes with lambs at foot next month.

Hello
Try Dorset Down breeders Assn who will have list of breeders, also try Richard Holloway near Stoke sub Hamdon as he has a large flock of excellent Dorsets (Messrs EB Holloway & Son
Manor Farm, Chiselborough, Stoke Sub Hamdon,
Somerset TA14 6TU)

So sorry I have completely missed your replies. :-[
Morri Thank you very much for the offer, North Wales would be quite a hike from her, although very tempting.
Val: Thanks for the heads up on this one. Manor Farm is one I know from my childhood, I spent most of my childhood on the farm next to theirs, litrally a few Fields away, long time ago and thats where I got my farming interest from. Could well be worth a look, Ill get in touch, worth the trip for some memories ;)

Hi Cobra
I have a friend that comes over to shear my sheep and he has dorsets he has said you could get some of his but it would mean paying towards the transport as well.
-
Hi Hun,
Dont know why but I just dont get alerts on this thread and constantly miss replies, but then my fault for not checking back :-[
Would be interested, where would they be coming from I guess is the question? that would dictate the cost of transport. If its not to far and viable then great ;D
Dont suppose he has a couple with lambs? so I can begin the cycle so to speak.
Ill get in tuch after teh weekend Rach xx

Hi
Would you consider Frieslands?
Thanks
-
They would be coming from west sussex they would probably arrange it for when they are coming over for shearing towards the end of the month. I can ask prices etc for you if you tell me how many you want.
-
Thanks hun, would be 2 to 3 ewes preferably with lambs at foot to start off with. I know its not many, but a sensible amount for me here to get teh ball rolling. xx

Hi
Would you consider Frieslands?
Thanks
I have to admit I am not familiar with the breed. Infact will have to look it up on google :-[ I have always had an interest in Jacobs & Dorset's as despite their large size they are a pretty stable breed and normally quite docile making handling much easer for me. Are you near by, a look at them could be of interest and educational if thats not cheeky ??? If they do look like a breed i fancy trying then who knows, I have to say the Dorset would be my first choice being totally honest.
Regards
Mark
