Title: landrover radio code
Post by: Beewyched on March 09, 2011, 07:16:21 pm
Just got the old Freelander to the local garage today to investigate a new noise - more grease needed, squeak gone now, new one tomorrow  :D !

Anyway, job didn't require electrics to be touched, clock still ok & showing time, but radio asking for code  ???  Not got any of the manuals etc as she's quite an old girl & don't particularly want to bother Land Rover (probably charge more than she's worth  :'( - bless).

Any ideas anyone??? Thanks

Take radio out and put it in the freezer for a day or so then thaw it out and try it again.  I believe that's how thieves do it.

Mine too  ;D way above!

Oh well, looks like I'll have to ring the garage in the morning so they can deny any responsibility  ;)

Maybe just disconnecting it from the battery might work.  Your garage should know, they are usually crooks too ;)

And yours, I suspect, Lilian. I was an accountant - you get to know a lot of things that you just wouldn't have the guts to try yourself! ;) ;D

BTW if anyone is having real problems with their self assessment and books I really am happy to help.  Can sort things by email/phone usually.  Don't charge much either.   ;D ;D

Hi, there are a few websites you can use to get your radio code for a couple of quid, here's a link to one of them.
http://www.car-radio-unlocking.co.uk/?gclid=CJSHwtzBwqcCFUFC4QodommE-w (http://www.car-radio-unlocking.co.uk/?gclid=CJSHwtzBwqcCFUFC4QodommE-w)

If you Google radio code freelander it brings up quite a few ........ I've used these outfits a few times without any problems ......... hope this helps

Fixed it, fixed it, fixed it  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Looked on some Landy website that said to hold the M button down for 10 seconds then use the volume button to get info up on the screen - didn't work  ??? so ...

Just kept fiddling & found that when I tried to enter a code it would only allow me to enter 0000 by pressing the Station 1 button >>> then ended-up pressing the Station 1 button a 5th time by mistake >>> heard a little noise & hey - we have SOUND  ;D ;D ;D

Don't know if this will work for any Landy or just ours - or even if it will work next time ??? but I can now get the local station again, so I can compare the weather forecast against what I'm actually out in  ;D ;D ;D

Little things ...  :)

We had the same problem a couple of years ago when some numpty disconnected the battery on the wif's Vaux Zafira. I got a code (for free) from a guy on this forum: http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f179/ (http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f179/)
