It's really exciting when you know they are on the way. My Saddleback had 10 last night and we stood and watched them all being born. We left her alone for about 2 hours then went back about 2230hrs and she was happily feeding them all. Better still, they all survived the night, even the wee runt. Hopefully she'll manage to wean them all without any casualty's.

Thank you all.

Hope you and the Onnyview GOS are doing well Allison.

It's been a long night!  Rosie has taken her time and over the course of 6 hours produced 4 beautiful little piglets  (2 girls and 2 boys) :)

Rosie is a big girl and had got a lot bigger!  So I was expecting a few more.  But 4 healthy, happy piggies are very welcome  :pig:

Rosie is quite and character.  I bought her last year allegedly 'in pig'.  She grew larger and larger but never produced any piglets!  She looked in pig for quite a while and even looked as though she was bagging up....but nothing.

So at just 2 years old Rosie has become a Mum for the first time.  :)

Congratulations.  She will probably have more next time, and 4 live healthy ones is far better than 10 weak sickly ones.   ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D :pear: :cherry:

Glad to hear all went well, Julie. At least with 4 piglets they will be a VERY good size at weaning!

We're all fine up here in Shropshire thank you. The pigs have survived the -17 temperatures and no piglets were lost, although my toes were close to getting frost bitten during the farrowings!

Daisy's due to produce again next week. So I'm really hoping they'll be some registerable Dahlia's this tme.   ;D

Take care,

Allison
