Hi, I am new to goat keeping and am preparing for my first pair.
A fundamental question though! How will I be allowed to transport a pair, once Ive found them, to my property?
I have a transit van but do I need special crates, a special vehicle or a special license?
I am aware of the DEFRA AML 1 informing that the goats are moving from one holding to another but cannot find info on how I am allowed to bring them home.

Call me on 01647 231456 and I will explain what is necessary. Not complicated !!!!

Thank you so much for the kind offer. We are sorted as have had plenty of advice from the seller of a pair of goats we have now agreed to buy.
Watch this space!
We are very excited indeedy

Fabulous! We use a transit van as well- as long as the vehicle can be disinfected it is fine.

That's how we did it - 4 of them in the back, looking out the rear window, caused a few giggles. Savannah travels in there when we do daft stuff like visit local nursery for their billy goats gruff story time - she loves it.

same here, my first 2 goats arrived and left in an estate car - lots of finger pointing along the road. our new ones were priviledged with a transit van!!
;D :D

got back yesterday
it was a long trip but so worth it!!!
they travelled fine in the van both in a giant dog crate, plenty of straw
off to start a thread on them and work out how to do photos lol
