Title: Fresh Start Programme - help for those starting in farming
Post by: smallholder in the city on January 07, 2011, 08:05:27 pm
We've just joined our local smallholding group and as a result have been sent some info about the Fresh Start programme. Essentially it's an initiative to assist those starting out in farming and also gives those with no experience of farming a bit of a taster. It seems quite practical with lots of farm visits and the seminars are all in the evening. Our local agricultural college has been running the programme since 2006 but it's the first I've heard of it so I thought it would be worth sharing with you fellow TASers

At the moment most of the academies are in the southern home counties so perhaps not that convenient for most TAS members; but it might be worth keeping an eye on it as they seem to want to expand the programme.

If there is anyone who has taken part in the programme how was it?
