Was out in the field earlier and climbed overtop of stock fence when i caught my foot on the way down in some wire on the other fence, put foot down and to put weight on it was very painfull,as you do i thought keep walking it will be fine but deep down i knew id done something bad, kept hobbling very slowly to feed animals, got my dad to come over to take me to A&E its broken :( worst bit is that i have to go back in the morning to have a cast put on as all the plasters had gone home.
Meant to say they wanted to cut my boot off but no way was i letting them cut it off!

oh god im sorry for you hope your ok, :bouquet:

Oh heck, I spent March to September in a in a leg cast so I know how you feel. Cheer up. It's because you need to slow down a bit I expect. If you are tenacious you will find ways to get your jobs done around it. Hope you are not in pain. :notwell:

I hope it mends quickly for you

oh dear, poor you... gives you an excuse to put your feet up!
-
Horrid but as little blue says, you can at least put your feet up and let everyone fuss over you, chockies, wine and good films!!!
-
Yes, Sandy's got a point. Look upon it as an excuse for a much needed rest. Given the forecast, thats not a bad thing right now. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Did that myself a few years ago, but it was my collar bone that got busted. Trying to do everything with your arm in a sling is hard, but with a plastered up leg is so much worse. Look after yourself. Hope you have someone to help, I didn't, just have to carry on somehow

You poor thing. Should have done that in the summer, what an excuse to lounge and read a book on a hot sunny day. Not so good in this weather.
-
Its a easy thing to do, so just take the time to be good to yourself and let others do the work for you, :)

what part of your foot/ankle have you done.
when i broke my ankle i never had physio after and broke it again 6 months later. the orthopeadic doctor i saw the second time specialised in sports injuries and said its common as you loose your propreitor receptors and have to do lots of balance type physio........
wish i had him the first time around!!!!! ::)
hope you're on the mend

Hi all and thank you all for your kind messages.
Dad took me over to have it plastered on friday, due to snow the usual 30 mins to hospital took 2 hours!
Luckliey i have been told i can walk on the cast but at the moment i cant put any weight on it as its just to painfull.
To be honest i can say this is the worst time of my life i hate not being able to go out to the animals,i also find it very hard to trust others that they have done it correctly,my OH works til late every night(not that id trust him either) so he cant help but i have one of the neighbours children doing all the animals and she is really good but i wish it was me out there.
I am having awful trouble with the crutches twice today i have banged the broken foot on the kitchen floor as the crutches keep sliping on the floor, the first time i managed to grab the unit but the second time was far worst than when i done it.
I am so bored tried to bake a cake this afternoon which would have normally taken me 20mins, 2hours later i finished but realised that i had done to much feeling flaked out,i just hate being able to do nothing.
The only good thing to come out of this is that it has made me realize how much i love my way of life and my animals, i am luckly that i run my shop from home so i have the luxury of being at home all day to care for my animals, today all my customers have been getting there own feed then coming down to the house to pay.
Just praying its not to long for i can walk on it so i can get out to see the anaimls.
