Hi, I'm new here to this forum and we (my wife and I) moved to a smallholding between Carmarthen and Llandilo 3 weeks ago.
Just before the weather turned very cold and made getting out of our lane very difficult!!!
Being new to the area would be interested to hear from anyone else in the area who can offer advice etc!

Hi and welcome from North Yorkshire.

Hi welcome from Brittany. Our lane is impossible to negotiate during snow. We keep well stocked up on animal feed, my friend uses snow chains. Not much else to do except keep refilling water troughs and refilling the log basket.

Hello and welcome to TAS and also to wonderful South West Wales. We're in Blaenwaun, about 17 miles from Carmarthen and if we can help in any way, just shout ;D The good thing about moving here at this time of the year......is you've got some wonderful seasons to look forward to next year 8) We moved here in May 2008 and still feel like we're on holiday :D ;)

Hi from North Wales,
bet you can't wait for Spring, I know I never can!

Congratulations on moving to such a beautiful county. I'm in the south-east (Caerphilly), but love Carmarthenshire. It's a nightmare over here at the moment, with frozen pipes (in as well as out) and icy roads. Can't wait for spring!

Thanks for the warm welcome.
Will post more as we get settled. We have a total of 17 acres of sloping pasture land and a six acre wood. So enough to get our teeth into!

Another big hello from north Wales  You've probably got more snow now, since you posted. We've plenty here and I think you guys in the south have had it worse. December is not a good time to move - I know, I've done it twice now. We almost canceled Christmas the second time, but kids wouldn't let us!! ;D Still, all worth it in the end. Cheers!
