Title: bracelets&necklaces

my darling OH wants to try her hand at making a few bracelets & necklaces for family and friends not just for xmas but as more of a hobby sort of thing. she has bought a few hundred beads off ebay just wondering if anyone makes them and if any recommendations on the thread as she saw some today that was like 3-4 strands woven around with a few beads on each thread any help would be great cheers matty.

I make handmade jewellery too (in between everything else lol!  ;))
For strength you can't beat tiger's tail (but it can kink) beadalon is another good stringing material I work with. There are plastic, fishing line style threads and cotton ones available, but I don't trust them !
A quick trawl through ebay (or hobbycraft shops) will show her the range avaiable.

Thanks Cobra that is very sweet, making jewellery has become my main job really since being made redundant.
My best advice is to buy a few bags of beads that either match or really clash (ebay is good for these) some memory wire for bracelets, tigertail for necklaces  and a tool kit. you will also need a selection of findings (clasps etc) these again can be picked up on ebay as reasonably priced kits.
I use bead boards for laying out my more fiddly designs I have seen these recently in the pound shop, but sometimes you just get ideas by stringing beads randomnly on tiger tail.
