Title: Solar pond pumps
Post by: PK on August 03, 2020, 12:19:31 pm
Does anyone have any lived experience of using a solar powered pond pump to power a modest water feature as opposed to mains powered? Are they effective?

I've had both - next one will be electric if possible - more power and more controllable, but from an eco friendly point of view the solar ones are better.  If it's for a duck pond though, don't bother. the ducks will kill it  :innocent: :innocent:

I have cheap one purchased off of ebay two years ago, small and simple. You need to look at the descriptions to see if it has enough lift, mine has to lift water about 3ft, but it comes out of a tap, so even if its only a dribble, when its cloudy it gives the effect of a running tap. I think they are excellent for the cost.
