Title: Equipment you would rather hire than buy
Post by: quercus on November 02, 2010, 10:12:47 am
Hi

I am considering buying an apple press to hire out, as i know that locally there is demand as a number of wine making shops have closed down locally.

This got me thinking is there anyother pieces of equipment which are preferable to hire rather than buy.  I.e equipment which is realitively expensive to buy and only used for a short period of time, an apple press fits this bill.

Any thoughts would be great.

Thanks

LOL i have both and wouldnt do without them.

we have a juice extractor too...used a lot!! the sausage maker paid for itself in the first use. both as entertainment value and for the saving in the sausages themselves.  VERY High on the satisfaction stakes! If the butcher is going to charge £2.50 for making sausages over and above the butchering charges, making them at home is value for money!

the apple press is Ok for novelty value but not used all that often

Log splitter - unless you use it often. For me it's a once a year activity so owning one doesn't make sense.

Pressure washer - particularly a petrol powered one. Again, once a year use to clean the drive, gutters and woodwork prior to treating.
