Title: Corvid 19 and Tb testing
Post by: Backinwellies on March 24, 2020, 11:54:22 am

Due to have contiguous Tb test today …. but had to ring vet to say we were self isolating with mild symptoms of something... I've done my 7 days with just mild dry throat and headaches …. OH is on day 5 with similar.... so vet not coming out. Told me to ring ministry.
Think I may have been first case of this type …. min vet said to expect a letter with further instructions and no penalties but she couldn't say exactly what position was going to be.
… I wait (with a smile  as was going to be a nightmare getting cattle out from individual pens to be done … even the one we got out yesterday so we could make sure we could lift gates went bananas ) and hope for a delay of a week or three when cows hopefully will be back outside with their more normal 'whatever' hats back on!

Our vets sent us an Email saying that if a household is self-isolating, you are to tell them, and they'll then send out two vets to do the whole job, without involving you at all!

We've had a letter from the ministry (we're in Wales) saying that we can get the TB test done past the deadline without being charged/penalised but that we'll only be able to move on/off once the TB test has been done. Our vets are still doing tests.

Also in Wales - just had to delay mine. Vet told me to phone the Animal Health office (or whatever its called) and they were very relaxed and helpful - not a problem. If delayed beyond my testing deadline, I'll be on restrictions until the test can be done, but it won't affect Basic Payment.
