Title: 1st time shepherd meets road block
Post by: TheLifeOfRiley on February 19, 2020, 12:27:16 am
Good evening, my lambing season has started off with a first timer having twins (a ram and ewe). She delivered on her own, and cleaned both off. Then she rejected the ewe lamb so she is in a head stall and so far both are doing great. She bagged up 3 weeks prior to lambing. My problem is no one else is even remotely close to bagging up, yet 2 appear "sunken in" near their hips. One is acting uncomfortable and is breathing harder than normal. Thoughts? Can they all bag up within days of birthing? Just looking for advise/encouragement through this season! ???????

EVERY  one is different ,younger sheep tend to bag up well in advance while older ewes can be last minute , so Relax , if you know how long the rams were in and the ewes vulva's are pink and swollen then it will happen WHEN THEIR READY
