Title: Maxibrite smokeless coal NEW RECIPE!
Post by: PipKelpy on December 29, 2019, 11:52:01 am
I know it's not a renewable!

Due to the chimney having a liner, we can only burn smokeless or logs (before anything as it was brick!)

The stove is a Coalbrookdale MK2 little wenlock boiler model so only had 1 vent. I tested several bags during the summer and liked Maxibrite so ordered 2 ton. Also had delivered 2.5 ton of Stoveheat Premium off CPL.

Now, Maxibrite have changed the binding from heat binding to cold pressed and the coal man could only get 57 bags for me, old way!

We are finding that the Stoveheat is burning way too fast so are mixing it with the Maxibrite which belts out more heat and lasts longer as it's purer.

My coal man no longer deals with Maxibrite so if I want more it's a online purchase and pallet delivery.

Does anyone burn Maxibrite with the new binding recipe who also burnt with the old method, if that makes sense.

I have no problem buying the stuff off line but not if it burns fast! I also tested Phurnacite but the price difference was too much and CPL seem to like the petcoke!

I burn mixed ovoids in my stoves when using a coal product, otherwise it is seasoned logs.
