Title: wethers and nannies
Post by: farmerfred on December 22, 2019, 09:23:33 pm
iv been offered a couple of wethers to rear for meat, will they happily live together with my nanny goats, iv only ever had females before so was wondering if they would live happily together?

as long as they are wethered properly (check before you buy!) they should be fine. How old are they? I would leave them in a pen next to your girls for a wee while and let them get used to each other.
Make sure you know their health status (re CAE, parasites and JOhne's) before you let them run together.

Yes should be fine, just be careful introducing them, your girls will probably be quite terrtorial and chase them off!

Should be fine once nannies have excepted them.I have had a couple of wethers  running with my herd for 5 years no problems. As  posted by Anke double check they have been done properly
