Title: Iron sulphate

Have been researching ways to kill off moss and encourage grass growth. I live in a valley so for part of the year it can be quite shaded which doesn’t help the land.
I’ve seen water soluble iron sulphate which apparently could improve the situation. Just wondering if anyone has used this, and also if anyone has an idea of whether it would be harmful to animals? I have sheep (thought this was more land related than sheep related though!)

No it's not poisonous. However, it may be also that your grass needs liming, as applying some would also  discourage moss.

We tried applying lime before, but possibly not in the right quantity. We used a powder and it seemed to just sit on top of the moss and solidify. We’re up against it as we’re in a valley so there’s quite a slope and we can’t get a vehicle all the way over it so we’re doing it by hand.
